Life's better at the beach
A small piece hand crafted Cornish driftwood with the caption "You, me and the sea". The driftwood has been varnished and with comes complete with a small length of macramé hanging rope through two pre-drilled holes and finished at both ends with half hitch knots and fisherman's tape. The top has been painted with acrylic to symbolise the sea and waves, with a small toy boat floating on the surface.
The slogan was pyrographed by hand and the driftwood featured in this product was found on the beach at Rinsey Head in South West Cornwall. The wood itself has been bleached in a large bleaching tank for two days. It is then rinsed and left to dry naturally before being slightly sanded to eliminate rough edges. This little gift could also be used as a fridge magnet.
When scouring the beach for any beach debris, I often ignored small pieces of driftwood as I believd they wouldn't be of any use in creating crafts for use in the home or garden but now i have made a point of collecting just about anything that shows potential! I often fing several pieces of different coloured sea glass along the way but I am saving them for future projects!
